Which Gujarati IPTV channels does RiseIPTV carry and Which Gujarati news channels can I watch live from the USA?
RiseIPTV carries 18 Gujarati-language TV channels: eleven Gujarat news and business channels including TV9 Gujarati, ABP Asmita, VTV, Sandesh News, GSTV and CNBC Bajar; Colors Gujarati and DD Girnar for serials, natak and folk programming; Colors Gujarati Cinema for Dhollywood films; and four devotional channels led by Lakshya TV and Aastha Gujarati. Eighteen is the real number of Gujarati-language channels on air worth carrying — not a headline figure running into the thousands that no subscriber can ever check. Gujarati television is an unusually news-weighted market, and this lineup reflects that honestly rather than inflating a count with channels that do not exist. Watch Gujarati TV online, live, from anywhere in the USA, UK or Canada.
TV9 Gujarati, ABP Asmita, Zee 24 Kalak, News18 Gujarati and India News Gujarat are the Gujarati services of national news networks, so their bulletins carry Delhi and national political coverage alongside state news. GSTV, Sandesh News, VTV, Mantavya News and Gujarat First are Gujarat-owned — GSTV belongs to the Gujarat Samachar group and Sandesh News to the Sandesh newspaper — and they run district-level reporting from Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and Kutch that the national networks skip. TV9 Gujarati, on air since 2007, was the first Gujarati 24-hour news channel and still sets the pace the rest follow.

| ABP Asmita | National network | HD | ABP Network's Gujarati service, Ahmedabad-based |
| Zee 24 Kalak | National network | SD | Zee Media's Gujarati bulletins and debate |
| News18 Gujarati | National network | SD | Network18's Gujarati service, state and national politics |
| India News Gujarat | National network | SD | ITV Network's Gujarati bulletins |

| VTV Gujarati | Gujarat independent | SD | Statewide reporting, crime and civic coverage |
| Mantavya News | Gujarat independent | SD | Regional bulletins and current affairs |
| Gujarat First | Gujarat independent | SD | Statewide news, launched 2022 |
| CNBC Bajar | Business & markets | SD | India's only regional-language business channel |
CNBC Bajar is worth singling out: it was India’s first business news channel in Gujarati, and business news in any language other than Hindi or English remains rare — a direct reflection of how much of Gujarat’s audience trades, imports or runs a family business. For a Gujarati household abroad still holding property or a stake back home, market coverage in Gujarati is the one thing a Hindi business channel cannot replace. Main evening bulletins run between 8:00 and 10:00 at night in India, which lands at 10:30 AM–12:30 PM Eastern, 9:30–11:30 AM Central, 7:30–9:30 AM Pacific and 3:30–5:30 PM in the UK. Those figures assume North American and British summer clocks; each shifts an hour earlier in autumn, since Gujarat stays on IST all year. A seven-day electronic programme guide carries the full schedule, so a bulletin or a market wrap can be found without cycling through eleven channels to catch it.
Genres Gujarati TV does not have
- Kids' TV — no Gujarati channel exists; watched in Hindi
- Music — no Gujarati channel exists; watched in Hindi
- Cricket & sport — no Gujarati commentary feed; English and Hindi carried
What fills those gaps
- Indian channel lineup — national Hindi and English GECs, movies, kids, sport
- Hindi — the full Hindi lineup
All 18 Gujarati channels are included on every plan, with the Hindi and English tiers alongside them at no extra cost, and one subscription runs on three screens at the same time — enough for the news in the kitchen and a katha upstairs. See plans and pricing. Most Gujarati broadcasters have never launched an HD feed, so where a channel is marked SD above that reflects what the broadcaster transmits rather than any limit on the stream; Gujarati channels are delivered at the highest quality each one puts out.
Which Gujarati entertainment channels, serials and natak are included?
Gujarati general entertainment is a two-channel market, and it is more useful to say so plainly than to inflate it. Colors Gujarati, launched in 2002 as ETV Gujarati and rebranded under the Colors banner by Viacom18, is the only private Gujarati GEC on air — Zee Gujarati closed in 2009 and no broadcaster has replaced it since. It carries the family serials, social dramas, comedy strands, reality formats and festival specials that make up everyday Gujarati viewing. DD Girnar, Doordarshan’s Gujarati service from its Ahmedabad kendra, sits alongside it with public-service programming, folk and dayro music, rural and agricultural strands, and the live civic and religious telecasts that commercial channels do not commit airtime to. Between them they cover the Gujarati content most households abroad actually ask for.
| Channel | Category | Picture | Watched for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colors Gujarati | General entertainment | SD | The only Gujarati GEC — serials, comedy, reality, festival specials |
| DD Girnar | Public broadcaster | HD | Doordarshan Gujarati — folk, dayro, rural strands, live event telecasts |
One gap is worth being straight about, because a padded channel list will not survive first contact with the remote: Gujarati natak, the stage-comedy and drama tradition that Gujarati families have followed for over a century, has no dedicated linear channel. Colors Gujarati programmes natak and comedy in strands rather than as a full-time service, and the deep back catalogue of recorded plays sits on ShemarooMe, a separate subscription app. Gujarati television also has no dedicated kids’ channel and no dedicated music channel in any operator’s lineup — those genres are watched in Hindi, which is why Gujarat’s own BARC top five is usually made up of Hindi channels rather than Gujarati ones.
Is there a Gujarati movie channel, and where do new Dhollywood films land?
Colors Gujarati Cinema, on air since 1 June 2019, is the only Gujarati-language movie channel that exists — not the only one carried here, the only one broadcasting. It runs Dhollywood features around the clock: the rural-drama and folk-hero catalogue that built the industry, and the urban wave that followed Kevi Rite Jaish and Chhello Divas and turned Gujarati cinema back into a commercial proposition. That revival has since produced genuine national recognition — Hellaro took the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, and Vash won at the 71st National Film Awards — which is why a household that left Gujarat twenty years ago will find the current slate unrecognisable in the best way. In practice a Gujarati theatrical release reaches a linear movie channel roughly three to six months after cinemas, which means a full year of Dhollywood releases works its way onto the schedule on a rolling delay.
| Channel | Category | Picture | Watched for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colors Gujarati Cinema | Movies | SD | The only Gujarati movie channel — Dhollywood features, 24 hours |
Included in your plan
- Colors Gujarati Cinema — linear Dhollywood films, no add-on
- Colors Gujarati — weekend film premieres and festival specials
- DD Girnar — archive and classic Gujarati features
Sold separately by others
- ShemarooMe Gujarati — on-demand natak and film library, own app
- Theatrical-window titles — new releases before the linear window opens
Recent episodes and films stay available for seven days after broadcast through catch-up, which matters more for Gujarati cinema than for news: a film premiering at 9:00 PM in Ahmedabad starts at 11:30 AM on the US East Coast, in the middle of a working day.
Which Gujarati devotional, katha and bhajan channels are carried?
Devotional viewing is the second pillar of Gujarati television after news, and it is the category that keeps a household subscribed once the novelty of live news wears off. Four Gujarati-language channels cover it. Lakshya TV, Kartavya TV and Kalyan TV come from the same Surat-based broadcaster and run katha, pravachan, bhajan, kirtan and dayro alongside live coverage of community and religious gatherings. Aastha Gujarati, the Gujarati service of one of India’s oldest Hindu broadcasters, carries discourse, live aarti from temples and festival programming. Between them they cover the Swaminarayan, Vaishnav and Shakti traditions that structure the Gujarati religious calendar — the daily satsang habit that is hardest to keep up abroad and easiest to restore with a live feed.
| Channel | Category | Picture | Watched for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lakshya TV | Devotional | SD | Katha, pravachan, bhajan and live community events |
| Aastha Gujarati | Devotional | SD | Temple aarti, discourse, festival programming |
| Kartavya TV | Devotional | SD | Satsang, kirtan and social-religious events |
| Kalyan TV | Devotional | SD | Bhajan, dayro and spiritual discourse |
Jain households are a substantial minority within the Gujarati community, and Jain satsang programming runs on Paras TV and Jinvani, both carried on the same plan although both broadcast largely in Hindi rather than Gujarati. Devotional scheduling is the one place where the time difference works in your favour: morning aarti and katha in Gujarat, broadcast between 6:00 and 8:00 AM IST, arrive at 8:30 to 10:30 PM the previous evening on the US East Coast — an easier sitting to keep than the 5:30 AM start it would be if the clocks lined up.
Can I watch Navratri garba and Ahmedabad's Rath Yatra live from abroad?
The Gujarati calendar produces more must-watch live television than any other Indian regional market, and the events do not move to suit a diaspora audience. Navratri runs nine nights of garba and dandiya raas each September or October and is reasonably described as the largest dance festival in the world; the Gujarati news channels and DD Girnar carry ground coverage across the nine nights. Ahmedabad’s Rath Yatra, one of the oldest and largest chariot processions in India, is live-telecast by DD Girnar from before dawn and picked up by several Gujarati news channels as the 16-kilometre route unfolds through the old city. Uttarayan on 14 January turns the sky over Ahmedabad and Surat into a kite festival that gets full-day treatment. Diwali and Bestu Varas, the Gujarati New Year that follows it, bring Annakut darshan from the major temples onto the devotional channels.
| Live event | Gujarat slot (IST) | US Eastern | US Pacific | UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Navratri garba (Sep–Oct) | 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM | 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM | 7:30 – 11:30 AM | 3:30 – 7:30 PM |
| Rath Yatra, Ahmedabad (Jun–Jul) | from 3:50 AM | from 6:20 PM prev day | from 3:20 PM prev day | from 11:20 PM prev day |
| Uttarayan kite festival (14 Jan) | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM | 9:30 PM prev day – 7:30 AM | 6:30 PM prev day – 4:30 AM | 2:30 AM – 12:30 PM |
Navratri and Rath Yatra fall while North American and British summer clocks are running; Uttarayan falls in January, when both have gone back, so its conversions are calculated on winter time. Gujarat keeps a single time zone year-round and does not observe daylight saving, so the gap widens by an hour each autumn rather than staying fixed. Two of the three begin early enough in the Indian day that the offset alone carries them into the previous calendar date abroad, whichever way the clocks are set. Catch-up holds the previous seven days, which is the realistic way to watch a 3:50 AM chariot procession from New Jersey or Leicester.
